Two well-traveled defensemen in minor pro hockey are returning to previous locations after being involved in a trade Monday.
The Mississippi RiverKings have traded Rob Hall back to the Evansville Thunderbolts in exchange for the return of Donald Olivieri from Evansville.
Olivieri comes back to Mississippi, where he played in the 2016-17 season. Hall wrapped up the end of last season at Evansville and spent the preseason there before becoming a late addition to the RiverKings’ roster.
A third-year pro, Olivieri has played in the Federal Hockey League with the Berlin (N.Y.) River Drivers, Mississippi, Peoria and Evansville in the SPHL, and played 11 games in the ECHL with the Missouri Mavericks.
So far this season, Olivieri has scored a goal and added an assist in eight games with the Thunderbolts and was tagged for 18 penalty minutes.
Hall, still considered a rookie, has played 11 professional games with Evansville and six with the RiverKings before his return to Indiana. This season, Hall has had one assist in his six appearances and has nine penalty minutes.
Mississippi hosted Penascola Tuesday night, travels to expansion Birmingham on Friday and returns home to meet Evansville on Saturday evening at the Landers Center in Southaven.
