Another veteran and another rookie have been added to the Mississippi RiverKings training camp roster.
The team Thursday announced the signings of forwards Matt Harrington and Jordan Carvalho.
Harrington returns for his fifth season with the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) team, while Carvalho makes his professional hockey start after a college career in the NCAA Division III ranks.
Along with this being Harrington’s fifth year with the RiverKings, the North Port, Fla. native is playing in his seventh professional season overall, having started with the Pensacola Ice Flyers in the 2011-12 season.
Harrington has logged more than 200 professional games in the SPHL and has also seen 22 appearances at a higher level in the ECHL.
With Mississippi, Harrington has averaged more than 30 points a season.
Carvalho, a native of Brampton, Ontario, scored 99 points in 97 games for Morrisville State, N.Y. The number included six goals for 37 points in his final season of college play last year.
The RiverKings will start their 2017-18 SPHL campaign on Oct. 20 against Knoxville at the Landers Center in Southaven.
