The Memphis Hustle NBA G League basketball team have returned from their road trip out west and will host the Austin Spurs Friday night at the Landers Center. Game time is 7 p.m.
Memphis comes back to Southaven after Tuesday’s 113-111 loss to the Iowa Wolves (Timberwolves) in Des Moines, Iowa. That ended the trip to California and Iowa with a 1-2 record.
Tuesday, Iowa closed the game on a 7-0 run after the Hustle held a 111-106 lead with 2:12 remaining the contest.
Trahson Burrell’s 23 points and 11 rebounds gave Memphis its fourth double-double effort from the former Memphis Tiger and he was one of five starters to all get double figures in points Tuesday night.
Marquis Teague struck for 18 points and averaged 23 points for the three road games. Durand Scott tallied 16 points, Omari Johnson scored 13 points for the Hustle and Chance Comanche finished with 12.
Two-way player Anthony Brown led Iowa in scoring with 24 points.
With the loss, Memphis fell to 7-11 for the season and is now in fourth place in the Midwest Division, 1.5 games behind division-leading Oklahoma City.
