University of Tennessee-Martin kick return specialist Peyton Logan has been named to the HERO Sports FCS Freshman All-American Team after a standout campaign.

Logan is one of just six players in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) to receive the postseason honor.

A 5-8, 170-pound specialist from Horn Lake, Logan proved to be explosive in his true freshman season for the Skyhawks. The running back made moves on special teams, earning All-OVC second team and All-Newcomer postseason honors after notching 22 kickoff returns for 593 yards and one touchdown.

In the backfield, Logan tallied 22 rushing attempts for 137 yards while catching seven passes for 63 yards. He also returned two punts for five yards.

Logan’s best game came against Eastern Kentucky when he broke loose on a kickoff return for a 95-yard touchdown to earn OVC Specialist of the Week honors.

For the year, Logan notched five contests in which he eclipsed 100 all-purpose yards.

Logan ranked fifth nationally with his lone kickoff return for a touchdown while his 27.0 yards per return ranked ninth nationally. His 27.0 yards per return also ranked first in the OVC.
