McKnight to Pine Bluff

Itawamba Community College men’s head basketball coach Grant Pate has announced that former Lake Cormorant standout Martaveous McKnight is among three sophomores to have signed to play more college basketball past their time at ICC.

McKnight recently signed with the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound guard averaged 24 points per game during his senior season with the Lake Cormorant Gators.

As a freshman at Itawamba, McKnight was named one of the country’s Top Incoming Freshmen by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). That season he averaged 12.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.0 per game.

This season as a sophomore, McKnight averaged 8.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.

UAPB is a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).
