* A trio of Olive Branch girls basketball players have been named to all-star teams by the Mississippi Association of Coaches. Myah Taylor was selected to the Mississippi roster for the annual contest between teams from Mississippi and Alabama, set for March 17 at Montgomery, Ala. Teammates Mahogany Vaught and Katie Blackmon were chosen to represent the North in the association’s annual North-South All-Star Games, set for March 24 at Mississippi College in Clinton. Horn Lake coach Janna Thompson will serve as an assistant coach for the Mississippi squad in the bi-state battle.

* A late change has moved the Saturday, Feb. 18 DeSoto County All-Star Soccer Games from Horn Lake to DeSoto Central High School. Girls will play at 11 a.m. and the boys’ contest will follow at 1 p.m.

* The Mississippi RiverKings split a pair of road games last weekend, winning at Evansville, Ind. 5-3 Friday night, but dropping a 4-2 decision Saturday at Huntsville, Ala. Mississippi plays at Macon, Ga. on Friday night and will return to Southaven for a Monday, Feb. 20 afternoon game against Columbus at 3 p.m.
