Mary Ann Davis Alexander of Southaven, 81, died Oct. 14, 2018 at North Delta Hospice after being a resident of Life Point Village for seven years. She was born Feb. 23, 1937, in Atwood, Tenn., the daughter of Roy L. and A. Blanch Davis, who predeceased her. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Billy Joe Alexander Sr.; her sister-in-law, Shirley Chalk and brother-in-law, Willie Chalk. She was a member of LaBelle Haven Church in Memphis for 31 years, where she taught four-year-old Sunday School and sang in the choir. She was also a member of CHC for 31 years and was active in the senior adult ministry. Most people know her as the Avon lady, which she was for over 30 years. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann Bishop and husband, Tony of Nesbit; son, Billy Joe Alexander Jr. and wife, Ann of Hernando; eight grandchildren, Craig Alexander, Heather Bell and husband Bowan, Brent Alexander, Shannon Pittman and husband, Matthew, Bonnie Wilkerson and husband, Kipley, Melody Harrison and husband, Jeff, Jonathan Alexander and Toni Shiver and husband, Joey. She has 17 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations and memorials in honor of Mary Ann Davis Alexander be made to The Gideons International Processing Center (P.O. Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090-7251) or the Alzheimer’s Association (225 N. Michigan Ave. Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601). Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 21, 2018 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at Twin Oaks Funeral Home (290 Goodman Road East, Southaven, MS 38671) with the funeral service following at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will be held at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens.
