Surrounded by her family, Dorothy Yelverton Sexton, 71, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018, at her Southaven home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Funeral services will be held on July 31 at 2 p.m. at Hernando Funeral Home, with burial following in New Bethlehem Cemetery in Nesbit.  The service will be officiated by Pastor Terry Jackson. Visitation was from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 30 at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benoit and Evelyn Yelverton; her husband, Richard Lloyd Sexton and her brother, Bill Yelverton. She leaves her three daughters, Deana Sexton of Southaven, Stephanie Sexton Davis of Hernando and Amanda Sexton Ferguson and her husband Keith of Carrollton; her grandsons, Hunter Davis of Hernando and Dean Ferguson of Carrollton and her aunt, Pat Brown and her husband Ralph Brown of Memphis, Tenn. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association.
