DESOTO  COUNTY

Cheryl Elder Jamison went to be with the Lord on Nov. 14, 2018 after a long bout with breast cancer. She leaves behind her husband of 51 years, Tommy Jamison; her niece Carla Osborne and her nephew D.C. (Bubba) Harris. Cheryl was a homemaker, cosmetologist and school teacher. She loved her ministry to those in her church family, especially the elderly ladies. Cheryl taught for 25 years in the Desoto County School system, teaching fifth and sixth grade math. She was one of the best in the state of Mississippi being recognized with her principal in Washington D.C. as being instrumental in achieving Blue Ribbon School Status. Cheryl will be greatly missed by her family, friends and church family who loved her so very much. The visitation and service was held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Independence, where she was a member for 50 years. Interment was held in Cockrum United Methodist Church Cemetery.
