Candidates Charlie Hoots (left) and Greg Paylor are running in Tuesday's runoff election for Southaven Board of Aldermen. Hoots and Paylor were the top vote getters in the Feb. 13 special election among seven candidates for the office formerly held by Ronnie Hale.

Voters in Southaven's Ward 2 are scheduled to vote Tuesday in the runoff election to determine the ward's next representative on the Board of Aldermen.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to determine who, between candidates Charlie Hoots and Greg Paylor, will replace Ronnie Hale on the board.

The pair were the top two finishers in the Feb. 13 special election held after Hale resigned from the seat in the midst of legal troubles in connection with transporting child pornography charges. He earlier was facing prostitution charges.

Hoots was the top vote-getter in a field of seven candidates with 169 votes. Paylor was second with 130 votes.

Paylor is an insurance executive and a former police officer. Hoots is a former news photojournalist with a Memphis television station.

Balloting is being done at the DeSoto County Justice Building on Highway 51 in Southaven.
