Southaven Alderman Ronnie Hale has pleaded not guilty in Southaven Municipal Court to the charge of procuring prostitution.
Hale's plea was entered on behalf of his attorney Tony Farese. Hale did not appear in court on Monday. Attorneys were informed there were no criminal matters coming before the bench on that day.
The DeSoto Times-Tribune attempted to reach out to Farese, as well as Hale, who was contacted by the newspaper on Wednesday. Hale did not return a phone call from the newspaper.
The alleged incident involving Hale and the subsequent charge of procuring prostitution occurred on Aug. 29.
The charge against Hale is a misdemeanor and upon a conviction, carries a penalty of a $200 and up to six months in jail.
Attorneys for Hale have also set a trial date but no date has yet been set in the case.
