Sheriff's Department holds collection event

These bags contain some of the 216.5 pounds of old prescription drugs collected Saturday during a National DEA Prescription Drug Take Back Day event held in cooperation with the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department. This program allows people to drop off old prescriptions without question or documentation. Two locations for pick up were used, at the Kroger Marketplace location in Hernando and the Kroger location at Goodman and Getwell in Southaven.
