Secretary of state hosted at Hernando meet and greet

Mississippi Secretary of State Michael Watson was hosted Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Coffee Central in Hernando by six-year veteran government staffer Jordan Brumbelow. County and city officials along with community leaders joined the meet and greet event to welcome Watson. Watson said the work of his office is more than just about elections. “We’ve got business services, cutting regulations for business growth,” Watson said. “We also got public lands, 16th section lands. I don’t think y’all have much of that here. Of course we do focus hard on elections to make sure they’re safe and free of fraud.” Some reforms Watson’s office is currently developing are minimizing burdensome or overbearing state board regulations and city ordinances.
