A woman and a man are dead and a girl is in critical condition after a Sunday night shooting incident in Horn Lake.
Police report officers were called to a home in the 3100 block of Cool Springs Drive, south of Latimer Lakes Park, about 10:40 p.m. Sunday night on the report of shots being fired.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a woman and girl, both with gunshot wounds. The woman was dead at the scene and the girl was airlifted to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis in critical condition
According to police, the girl remained in critical condition Monday morning.
DeSoto County Coroner Jeff Pounders identified the victim as Gale Hall Verner, 57. She died at approximately 10:40 p.m.
The investigation into the shooting led officers to the woman’s ex-husband, Marvin Verner, and deputies with the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department went to his home, where they found him dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His death was reported to have occurred at 11:15 p.m.
Gale Verner's daughter, age unavailable, was said to have suffered a gunshot wound to the face and was taken Regional One, where she is listed in critical condition.
"It was apparently a domestic squabble," Pounders said. "The two had been estranged from each other."
According to Horn Lake Police spokeswoman Lt. Nikki Lanphere, there are no other suspects being sought in the case.
