iPads presented to teachers of special needs students

The Arc Northwest Mississippi recently sponsored a workshop entitled "Using iPads With Special Needs Students."  It was presented on two consecutive Tuesdays with 45 teachers participating.  Thirty-two teachers applied for an iPad to use in their classrooms.  We had funding for 25, but we were so close to 32 that we worked quickly to get the extra funding for the additional seven iPads.  Twenty-seven iPads went to DeSoto County teachers, four went to Tate County teachers, and one went to The Baddour Center. The funding for the project was provided by The Autism Assistance Fund from the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi, The Arc Mississippi (the state chapter in Jackson), and the Special Needs Fund of Northwest Mississippi.
