DeSoto Civic Garden Club Supports Palmer Home
Students at Palmer Home in Hernando were recipients of backpacks and various school supplies made possible by donations from the DeSoto Civic Garden Club. As Palmer Home receives no state of federal funding, their operation relies solely on donor generosity. Throughout the year, DCGC seeks to continue to contribute to Palmer Home as one of its many philanthropy projects. The DeSoto Civic Garden Club is a member of The National Garden Clubs, Inc., Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc., and The Garden Clubs of Mississippi, Inc. Pictured above: Representatives from Palmer Home for Children who accepted the check from DCGC for the expense of backpacks and various school supplies were: (3rd/4th from left) Molly Coleman, representing Community and Engagement and Dr. Andre Coleman, Education Specialist. Flanking the staff from Palmer Home for the occasion were garden club members (left) Gonda Riggs, Sandra Stafford, and (far right) Toni Thompson all members of the Philanthropy Committee of the DCGC.
