Freddy's in Olive Branch

The new Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers location in Olive Branch handles a busy demand during the lunch hour on Monday. The Olive Branch restaurant is the newest of the 280-store franchise in 31 states.

A new addition to the restaurant scene in Olive Branch has opened with the appearance of DeSoto County’s first Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers location at 8115 Camp Creek Road.

It is part of the company’s expansion in the southeastern United States and is Mississippi’s first appearance of the national franchise.

The same franchise group that has opened the Olive Branch fast-casual restaurant is also set to open more locations, in Little Rock and Fort Smith, Ark. next month and in January, respectively. More locations are planned for Cabot, Searcy, and Batesville, Ark. over the next several years, according to a release announcing the Olive Branch opening.

"Freddy's is a perfect fit for these communities. I live in the area and know my neighbors will appreciate the hospitality found at Freddy's," commented franchisee Kevin Morrow in a statement. "The food is really good too. Whether you swing through the drive-thru on your way to a ballgame or bring your family in to unwind after a busy day, you'll enjoy your double steakburger and the frozen custard will leave you with a smile on your face."

Today, Freddy's has grown to 280 locations coast-to-coast.

Freddy's was founded in 2002 by brothers Bill and Randy Simon, and their friend and business partner, Scott Redler. The restaurant was named after Bill and Randy's father, Freddy Simon, a decorated World War II veteran whose family values and tradition of service are the company's foundations.

Freddy's opened its first location in Wichita, Kan., offering a unique combination of cooked-to-order steakburgers, Chicago dogs, and other savory items along with its signature desserts prepared with premium frozen custard churned fresh throughout the day.
