North American Electric, Inc., located in Hernando, has announced the launch of NAE Automation, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary providing automation solutions and engineering services.

A Hernando company with a market footprint that goes throughout the continent has announced the addition of a wholly-owned subsidiary to provide automatic solutions and engineering services.

North American Electric, Inc, with headquarters at 350 Vaiden Drive in Hernando, is adding NAE Automation, LLC, according to company president/CEO David Hackman.

“North American Electric is a wholesale distributor of electric motors and electric motor controls,” Hackman said. “We sell electric motors and we build electric motor control panels for applications. What NAE Automation does is that it will sell the engineering services and provide total solutions.”

The company’s primary focus will be material handling equipment such as conveyors, automatic palletizers and strapping machines.

Hackman explains that NAE Automation will help things like conveyors and similar-type equipment perform as the distributor or manufacturer requires.

“We would provide the engineering and support to make that conveyor and palletizer or any kind of robotic equipment do as it should,” said Hackman. “We write the code to make that stuff do exactly what they want it to do. You can buy a robotic arm, but getting it to do exactly what you want it to do takes somebody to go in and write the code for it.”

North American Electric has been in business since 1993 and opened its UL508A control panel shop in 2014 to provide complete electric motor control solutions.

With multiple shipping locations, North American Electric provides fast service to all areas of the United States that exceed customer expectations for quality, performance and reliability. Hackman expects NAE Solutions will offer more growth potential for the company.

“It’s going to be quite a shot in the arm for us and there’s a lot of opportunities,” Hackman said. “We do a lot of our work nationally, from coast-to-coast. In fact, our biggest project right now is in Wilmington, North Carolina.”

The NAE Automation addition is part of what has been continued expansion for the North American Electric firm.

“We just completed an expansion here and are expanding in two areas,” Hackman said. “We’re expanding our NAE motor controls, which is the building of the electric motor panels. Now, with NAE Automation, it’s going to actually generate more panel business so the electric motor panel shop will be expanding. We’ll probably be hiring 3-4 engineers and probably a half-dozen panel assemblers.”
